Amenities in Eschen/Nendeln, Liechtenstein

Unlike the Oberland villages who are fiercely independent of one another, the Unterland forms a closer community, sharing many amenities with neighbouring villages. Eschen shares many amenities, especially with Mauren. This is possibly helped by the fact that Eschen has two centres, as it is linked with the small village of Nendeln, which lies on the main road from Schaan to Feldkirch in Austria.

In the centre of Mauren, in the school complex, there is a public indoor swimming pool, and a commercial centre to the village. The football, athletics and tennis facilities are all centred around the sports complex the village shares with Mauren - forming the Unterland Sport Verein or USV.

Nendeln is at the foot of the mountains, with great paths to the village of Planken and Alps in general, and Eschen itself with access to the Eschnerberg - the hill behind the village.
