Flying in Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein does not have an airport or aerodrome to speak of, but a model aircraft landing strip does exist in Bendern, and has led to world champion model aircraft flyers to be trained. Roland and Wolfgang Matt have competed all over the World at the highest level, bringing trophies and medals back to Liechtenstein.
If you are passing Liechtenstein on the Swiss motorway, and you see a number of small aircraft buzzing around near Bendern, you'll be witnessing the Matt's practice sessions, though it would probably be better to keep your eye on the road.

Another form of flying popular in Liechtenstein is hang-gliding or paragliding. It is one of the most exhilarating experiences to run off the top of one of the Liechtenstein mountains and glide down to the valley floor.
On summer days, the sky can be filled with paragliders and hang-gliders, and they land on a field between Vaduz and Triesen. If you are interested in having a go, contact the tourist office, or speak to someone at the landing field - you won't regret it.
