Liechtenstein's manufacturing industries

Liechtenstein was a poor agricultural country until the end of the Second World War. Local entrepreneurs flourished post-war, growing outward looking companies with a mixture of good fortune and good management.

The close links with Switzerland, and therefore the Swiss Franc helped provide some stability for the new companies, and the size of the country meant that even down the road meant trading internationally.
